VCSEL Arrays
Princeton Optronics Inc.Request Info
With high temperature capability and wavelength stability, two high-brightness, high-power 808-nm VCSEL arrays from Princeton Optronics Inc. are designed for pumping Nd:YAG lasers.

One product is a chip on submount featuring power densities of 3.5 kW/cm2 and delivering more than 800 W of optical output power in quasi-CW mode. The array can be focused into a 1.3-mm spot into the Nd:YAG crystal for end or side pumping. CW power from the array is >250 W.
Quarter-circle VCSEL arrays chips can be used in a series of four (pictured) to output more than 3 kW in quasi-CW mode. The diameter of the emission area is 10 mm and can be focused into a 3-mm area in the Nd:YAG crystal.
The arrays offer brightness comparable to high-brightness edge-emitting lasers. They exhibit electrical-optical efficiencies of more than 50 percent at room temperature and offer >40 percent peak efficiency at 60 °C.
