Interspectrum.jpgInterspectrum OU has announced a single-mode visible/red vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser with a typical wavelength of 665 nm. The module offers low threshold current and a maximum operating current of 120 mA, which provides extended lifetime in a battery-operated device. It operates at a single wavelength, with spectral width less than 1 nm and with stable polarization. Its operating temperature, which ranges from 20 to 40 °C, is stabilized by a digital controller. Its low-divergence beam facilitates integration into various optical systems. The optical power of the output beam is approximately 1 mW, and the electrical voltage is 12 VDC. The device has applications in gas detection and monitoring, industrial process control, and medical devices and sensors.
