VCSELsThe Brightlaser Ltd. line of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) from Laser Components USA Inc. feature reliability and high beam quality.

VCSEL technology emits light from the top surface of the chip, with the ability to be tested on-wafer prior to being cleaved into individual devices, reducing fabrication costs. VCSELS are built in 1- and 2D arrays with larger output apertures in wavelengths of 808, 850, and 940 nm. The low temperature dependence of emitted wavelengths ensures greater ranges and higher resolutions.

With their high beam quality output and reliability, the high-power and short-pulse sequence of the compact multimode lasers are useful in lidar, range-finding, advanced driver-assistance systems, and proximity sensor applications.
