LARNE, Northern Ireland, Dec. 30, 2012 — Driven by the Sony ICX674 and ICX694 chips, the Kingfisher V from Raptor Photonics Ltd. is a deep-cooled vacuum interline scientific CCD camera. The digital monochrome camera is available with 2.8- and 6-megapixel sensors.
The high quantum efficiency of >77% at 525 nm and >50% at 380 and 720 nm provides optimum photon collection. Full well capacity is 12,000 electrons, nonlinearity is <1%, and readout noise is <1.75 electrons. Spectral response is from 310 to 1100 nm.
Features include global shutter, thermoelectric cooling with water (Pentavac technology), low dark current, a large field of view, 4.54 × 4.54-μm pixel size, and a C-mount lens mount.
The camera measures 109 × 85 × 76.5 mm and weighs 553 g, without the lens.
Applications include adaptive optics, bio- and chemiluminescence, calcium signaling, fluorescence imaging, spectroscopy, flow cytometry, Förster resonance energy transfer, fluorescence recovery after photobleaching, total internal reflection fluorescence, genome sequencing, high-content screening, high-resolution fluorescence imaging, hyperspectral and live-cell imaging, particle imaging velocimetry, single-molecule detection and solar cell inspection.
