Vacuum UV Excimer LaserThe COMPex F2 vacuum UV excimer laser from Coherent Inc. offers dual wavelength capability at 157 and 193 nm, enabling ablation of tough and transparent materials.

The laser meets the needs of applications demanding a powerful source of vacuum UV wavelengths. Specifically, it provides dual direct output by switching the gas fill, which maximizes utility and value. Applications include the laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) analysis of stone and ice samples; pulsed laser deposition of special materials; and direct patterning and micromachining of PDMS and PTFE.
