INGLEWOOD, Calif., May 23, 2006 -- Minus K Technology, a manufacturer of vibration isolation products, has introduced the BM-10 ultracompact high-performance vibration isolation platform. The BM-10 incorporates the company's patented negative stiffness technology and provides half-hertz performance in a compact benchtop platform only 12 in. square and 4.7 in. tall, making it suitable for small scanning probe microscopes and other instruments where lab and bench space are at a premium.

Minus K said the BM-10 offers natural frequencies of 0.5 Hz vertical and 1.5 Hz horizontal in an easy-to-use and install passive platform with exceptionally low cost of ownership. It is available in 10-, 25- and 50-lb models that will support payloads up to 55 lbs (25 kgs).

Negative stiffness technology eliminates the need for high mass or expensive facilities for power and air and is extremely robust, making installation, setup and operation quick and easy, requiring no special tools, the company said.

The BM-10 is available starting at $2300.

Minus K is displaying the BM-10 and other products at CLEO/QELS 2006 (Booth 1848), being held this week in Long Beach.
