Video Frame Grabber
BitFlow Inc.Request Info
BitFlow is offering the Karbon KBN-PCE-CXP4 video frame grabber that leverages the CoaXPress (CXP) digital interface standard.
CXP transmits high-speed serial data from a camera to a frame grabber at speeds of up to 6 Gb/s, while also sending control commands, 13-W safe power and camera triggers over a single piece of 75-Ω coaxial cable, resulting in cost savings and the ability to route the coaxial cable up to 135 m without compromising image quality or speed.
Four independent channels allow engineers to easily synchronize four single-link CXP cameras onto the same board for simultaneous image capture, or to connect a single quad link CXP camera, two dual-link CXP cameras, or a combination of one dual- and two single-link CXP cameras. To acquire image sequences beyond the 4-GB barrier, the board features a PCI Express x8 host interface with a maximum transfer rate of 3.125 Gb/s per link combined with proprietary FlowThru technology that eliminates the need for onboard memory. The cameras are linked via individual BNC connections, so the Windows operating system sees a separate frame grabber for each. Cameras can be synchronized or operated unsynchronized.
Adding the frame grabber to an application is simplified by the company’s software development kit, which supports 32- and 64-bit operating systems. The CXP and Camera Link versions of Karbon frame grabbers are software-compatible with each other, as well as with the company’s other frame grabbers, to make the migration from Camera Link or analog to CXP seamless.
