Olympus Life Science Europa GmbH has released its dotSlide 2.1 virtual microscopy system, available in three models, to permit the virtual on-screen overview of an entire slide. The images are automatically saved in an online database to which the user can gain secure access remotely. Suitable for all aspects of pathology and research, the instrument offers high throughput for extensive image acquisition and documentation of tissue sections and microarrays. It is based on the upright BX51 microscope, and the Peltier-cooled camera offers high resolution and sensitivity with fast frame rates.
