Teledyne Dalsa Inc. has launched a compact vision system for multicamera applications, final inspection of large assemblies and industrial inspection tasks.

The six high-bandwidth Gigabit Ethernet ports are compatible with a variety of GigE cameras, and the fanless design of the vision system renders it rugged and reliable enough for harsh factory applications. Camera expansion is accommodated via commercially available network technologies. The system is based on the Intel dual-core ATOM architecture, which offers low power consumption for machine vision applications and which can be expanded with an optional PL-USB companion module that offers input/output expansion and integration of up to four proprietary Genie cameras.

Supported by the company’s iNspect and Sherlock software tools, the system can be used in the automotive, consumer, electronics, packaging and pharmaceutical industries.

It includes dedicated display and USB ports for setup and run-time control, and a serial port for factory communication.
