Vision System Testing

Cognex Corp. has introduced TestRun software for its In-Sight vision system, allowing manufacturers to automatically test the system and verify that it is functioning correctly. Users can confirm program changes by checking against the “baseline” configuration. The software enables systems integrators and OEMs to demonstrate that the vision system meets the acceptance criteria when installed at the end user’s facility, and machine operators can minimize bad results by easily checking that the vision hardware is performing properly. The function also assists quality managers in identifying “borderline” inspections and in refining pass/fail criteria. The software assigns range limits to the vision program’s setup parameters and confirms that the current ones are within the expected limits.
