VAN NUYS, Calif., March 17, 2015 — MotiCont VCDS-051-089-01A new series of linear motion stages from MotiCont may be used in optical and electrical inspection, pick-and-place robotics, measuring, assembly, packaging, semiconductor handling, scanning and sampling.

The VCDS-051-089-01 series feature a voice coil motor, a ball bearing linear slide, home switch and an integral optical quadrature encoder with differential outputs.

The stages have a linear travel range of 55.9 mm, a continuous force of 6.0 lb (26.7 N) and a peak force of 19 lb (84.3 N) at a 10 percent duty cycle.

Standard models are available with positioning resolutions of 1, 12.7, 25.4 and 29.95 μm. Other resolutions, higher forces and customized linear motion systems can be engineered to meet user requirements.
