The VoluMax computer tomograph from Carl Zeiss IMT GmbH generates 3-D volume data in seconds, either in the lab or on the shop floor, and is insensitive to temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for inspection applications.

Its increased x-ray power improves measuring times: The system needs only 10 to 50 s per workpiece, depending on the part and whether it is loaded manually or with a robot. Cycle times can be lowered to less than 1 s per part if the user loads several parts at once.

The system is operational from 15 to 40 °C and can inspect single parts or entire assemblies, allowing manufacturers to more easily document the quality of each component.
