SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 19, 2008 – Picarro Inc. has introduced the Picarro L1102-i water isotope analyzer equipped with an integrated robotic autosampler and vaporization accessory to allow samples to be analyzed in a single automated, hands-free sequence.

Picarro-L-1102i.jpgThe compact instrument combines simple, turnkey operation with the sensitivity and precision better than or equal to the isotope ratio mass spectrometer (IRMS) systems traditionally used in stable isotope labs. It also provides simultaneous measurement of both δ18O and δD directly from water samples, whereas IRMS requires either different chemical processes to separately measure the two ratios, or two different mass spectrometers.

The analyzer is fully automated for running large sample batches, requires little or no sample preparation and provides data in minutes. It does not need frequent calibration because it has minimal memory and drift. It also requires no special training or setup.
