VICTOR, N.Y., Feb. 22, 2013 — The new iBeam smart WS, a compact OEM diode laser, features reliable wavelength-stabilized laser diodes integrated into Toptica Photonics Inc.’s iBeam smart platform.
It merges a narrow linewidth with high beam quality, low power consumption and robustness, and offers an ultracompact footprint and the ease of use of a diode laser.
It meets the requirements of applications that require high-coherence lasers, such as high-resolution Raman microscopy, spectroscopy, interferometry, holography and gas sensing.
Instabilities due to vibrations or ambient temperature drifts are eliminated. The system maintains its performance even under harsh environmental conditions. Active thermal stabilization of the laser diode ensures constant lasing conditions and good beam-pointing stability.
The compact OEM diode laser with integrated μprocessor-based electronics facilitates system integration. Users can set and control all laser parameters via the RS-232 interface.
Features include power of 120 mW at 785 nm, 45 mW at 685 nm and 20 mW at 638 nm; a narrow linewidth of <50 MHz at 785 and 685 nm, and <300 MHz at 638 nm; and a footprint measuring 100 × 40 × 40 mm.
It is fully computer controlled.
