Wedge HF Q-Switched DPSS Laser

PAVIA, Italy, Jan. 11, 2011 — Bright Solutions has introduced a more compact version of its existing Wedge HF Q-switched diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser. Available through RPMC Lasers, the new OEM configuration provides 180 µJ of pulse energy at 1064 nm, with pulse widths as short as 700 ps and repetition rates from 10 to 100 kHz.

The Wedge HF produces beam quality with an M² of 1.1. Harmonic wavelengths of 355, 532 and the eye-safe wavelength of 1.5 µm are also available. Average power produced in the infrared is 3 W at 20 kHz and 4 W at 100 kHz, with conversion to the second harmonic generation of 50% and the third harmonic generation of 30%. At 1.5 µm, it produces 500 mW of power at 10 kHz.

With the optical head measuring 7.5 × 3.5 × 2.8 in., this laser is suitable for integration into end user systems where small dimensions are vital. Another advantage of the laser is that it is cooled via fan-forced air.

It can be used for a variety of applications including ablation of thin films, micromachining, optical parametric oscillator pumping, specialty scribing, materials processing, light detection and ranging, laser detection and ranging, and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy.
