CEA-Leti has announced a wide video graphic array GaN microdisplay with a 10-µm micropitch. The 10-µm pixel pitch technology will help address the growing demand for augmented-reality glasses for consumer and professional users, head-up displays for vehicle drivers, pico projectors and other compact projectors. The microdisplay, based on a self-emissive GaN-based technology, shows highest resolution with smallest pixel pitch. The system is produced through patterning high-density microLED arrays and hybridizing them on a CMOS circuit using micro-tube technology.
