Coherent’s meta-wire-based grid polarizers (WGP) are designed for integration into optical isolators for high-speed datacom transceivers. The WGP with dual-sided antireflective coating has a 50 dB extinction ratio and 98.5% efficiency. The nonabsorptive wire grid polarizer supports higher power levels in a smaller footprint. Engineered with nonoxidizing gold meta-wires and optimized meta-material designs, the device offers resilience at high power levels while maintaining low cost and scalable manufacturability. The WGP integrates with polarization diversity and garnet-based components to enable stable, high-quality optical signals in next-generation networks.
