IRVINE, Calif., March 24, 2015 —
A new Wollaston prism from Newport Corp. offers high-purity linear polarization of broadband sources or multiple laser wavelengths.
Unlike many other polarizers, the 10WLP08 provides two output beams separated at a nominal angle of 20°.
The Wollaston prisms are fabricated from select-grade calcite prism pairs cemented together and assembled into a compact housing.
Available uncoated or with broadband antireflection coatings covering wavelengths from 430 to 1550 nm, they feature an extinction ratio >100,000:1, low wavefront distortion and a high surface quality of 20-10 scratch-dig.
