VILANOVA i la GELTRÚ, Spain, Aug. 31, 2012 — Monocrom is presenting a compact pulsed infrared laser. The X1064Q diode-pumped solid-state laser has an internal passive Q-switch to deliver pulses shorter than 2 ns, with energy of 40 µJ and a peak power >30 kW at a repetition rate of 10 kHz.

The design is scalable. Applications include laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, marking and micromachining. It also can be used as a seeder for amplifiers.
