XYZ Positioning StagesOptimal Engineering Systems Inc. has introduced a series of high-precision, low-cost XYZ positioning stages that can be easily integrated into new and existing applications.

Offered in travel lengths of 50, 100, 150, 200, and 300 mm, any combination of motors and lead screws are available. The two-phase stepper motors are standard with a knob for manual adjustment, but that can be replaced with an incremental quadrature encoder for position verification. An optional three-phase brushless servo motor with optical encoder is also offered for closed-loop operation and higher operating speeds. The standard lead screw pitch of 4 mm can be replaced with 1 mm per turn lead screw for higher resolution.

With steel linear ball bearings and a hardened steel shafting, each stage has a 90 × 90-mm table with a precise pattern of threaded mounting holes. It is also offered with a locking brake for the Z-axis.
