Oxxius has announced the SLIM-561, a yellow diode-pumped solid-state laser that emits 150 mW of continuous-wave power at 561 nm. With its patented, alignment-free monolithic resonator, it produces optical noise of less than 0.2 percent rms and pointing stability less than 5 µrad. Power consumption is down to 15 W.
The laser produces a TEM00 beam with M2 of ≤1.2. Beam diameter and beam divergence are 0.7 mm and 1 mrad, respectively. For the collimated type, they are 0.7 mm and 1 mrad. Circularity is ≥0.85, power stability is ±1% over 8 h, and input voltage is 5 V. Polarization is ≥100:1, vertical. Single frequency emission is also available.
The laser head measures 80 × 44 × 25 mm and weighs 350 g.
It is available in two configurations: an OEM version intended for system integration, and a plug-and-play, CDRH-compliant model for laboratory environments. It is a drop-in replacement for the green SLIM-542 and the blue SLIM-473, facilitating integration into multiwavelength or customizable instrument designs.
Applications include laser Doppler velocimetry, total internal reflection fluorescence, flow cytometry, cell sorting, confocal microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. It can be used for fruit proteins fluorescence excitation when high throughput is required.
