TUCHENG, Taipei, Nov. 22, 2010 — Everlight Electronics Co. Ltd. has introduced the multichip Yi LED lighting series devices that offer high power, high luminosity and 5-W power consumption in a compact ceramic package.

The Yi LED is a four-chip device with very low thermal resistance as a result of the ceramic substrate. The LEDs measure 6 × 6 × 4.28 mm and are suitable for general illumination, indoor and outdoor lighting, retrofit bulbs, decoration and entertainment lighting, commercial lighting, signal and beacon lighting, and interior and exterior automotive illumination. With a 700-mA driving current, the LEDs can be driven at up to 5 W. Minimum luminous flux is up to 400 lm at 6500 K (correlated color temperature) or 325 lm at 3000 K (correlated color temperature) when driven with 700-mA current.

The thermal pad is electrically isolated, providing convenience in thermal and electrical design. The devices offer low thermal resistance and have a typical wide view angle of 105°.

Features include electrostatic discharge protection up to 2 kV, lumens maintenance that conforms to the IESNA LM80 test method and a moisture sensitivity level of 1. The soldering method is surface mount technology, and binning parameters include brightness, forward voltage, wavelength and chromaticity. The RoHS-compliant devices match ANSI binning.
