SARGANS, Switzerland, June 5, 2013 — The epc600 3-D TOF (time of flight) fully integrated camera chip from Espros Photonics Corp. is suitable for applications such as light control sensing, distance monitoring, proximity detection, gesture control, contactless push buttons, and security and surveillance.

It measures 2.6 × 2.6 mm, and, with a few passive components, a couple of LEDs and an appropriate measuring system design, it can form a distance sensor with a measuring range of >100 m and a distance resolution in the millimeter range. Measurement cycle times of <1 ms offer possibilities for industrial applications.

The camera chip comes with an evaluation kit and documentation.
