iC-NZN/-NZP Laser Diode Drivers

BODENHEIM, Germany, July 13, 2011 — The all-purpose iC-NZN and iC-NZP laser diode drivers from iC-Haus GmbH drive laser diodes in continuous-wave and spike-free pulse modes with up to 155 MHz and with either optical output power or current control.
Blue laser diodes can be operated with the iC-NZN. The devices have an adjustable current limit, with a maximum of 300 mA available.
When the current limit is reached, it is signaled at an error message output, which also indicates undervoltage and overtemperature. There is a safety shutdown function for the output stage in the event of overtemperature.
The devices can be driven by either low-voltage differential signaling or transistor-transistor-logic pulse signals. They have a standby mode with a low current consumption of <50 µA.
Applications include laser diode pointers, laser levels, bar-code readers and distance measurement.
