BELFAST, Northern Ireland, April 19, 2013 — Andor Technology plc has launched its iDus 416 low-dark-current, deep-depletion CCD technology on an industry-standard platform. This technology offers sensitivity in the near-IR, opening possibilities for faster, higher-resolution Raman, photoluminescence, plasmonics or broadband absorption without the need for liquid nitrogen. Its applications include biochemical mapping and materials analysis, noninvasive medical diagnostics and industrial process control.
The back-illuminated device offers 15-µm pixel resolution, 95 percent quantum efficiency and thermoelectric cooling to minus 95°C. The 30-mm-wide sensor enables simultaneous spectral bandpass collection. The fringe-suppression process, ensuring low optical etaloning, also comes as standard. Its plug-and-play USB 2.0 connectivity offers transportability when connecting to laptops.
