BERLIN, Feb. 12, 2021 — kW Beam ShapersFocal-πShaper_1070_Q_HP beam shapers from AdlOptica GmbH are designed for kW lasers.

Intended to control intensity distribution of a focused spot, the shapers are optimized for operation with high-power TEM00 continuous-wave and pulsed lasers with average kW power ranges. Use of sapphire as the optical element material avoids thermally induced effects such as thermal focus shift and spherical aberration. It also stabilizes microprocessing techniques based on multi-kW fiber lasers and high-average-power ultra-short pulse lasers in selective laser melting, drilling, patterning, microwelding, cutting, and other micromachining applications.

The shapers’ compact size, built-in alignment tools, low sensitivity to misalignments and deviations of input beam size, a well-developed adjustment procedure, variety of models, and operation with scanning heads and F-theta lenses facilitate their integration into existing equipment and R&D setups.
