ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 16, 2006 -- Melles Griot Optics Group, a supplier of optical components and optical
systems, has developed a family of high-precision Fizeau transmission
spheres that quadruple the absolute accuracy of Zygo-style Fizeau
surface and transmitted wavefront testing interferometers. The new
100-mm, clear-aperture transmission spheres are available from stock in
f/0.76, f/1.5, f/2.2 and f/3.3.
Bruce
Capron, director of sales and marketing for Melles Griot Optics Group,
said, "We use the latest technology available, including subaperture
stitching interferometry (SSIR) and magnetorheological finishing
(MRFR), to provide the industry's best-performing test optics. The
Absolute Fizeau transmission spheres enable companies to quadruple the
performance of their existing interferometer systems at a very
cost-effective price."
