peaXXus - Multi-spot Optics for Multi-kW Lasers
AdlOptica GmbHRequest Info
Laser beam shaping by splitting laser energy and focusing in nine focuses is realized by peaXXus optics of patent pending design developed for laser material processing techniques like welding, cladding based on multi-kW lasers. Focusing a laser beam in 3x3 matrix of separate focuses with variable energy distribution is a powerful and flexible tool to optimize conditions of material processing by providing composed peaXXus-spots: central peak surrounded by ring-like spots, linear and square flat-top, 4-spots as a square and others. Variety of peaXXus-spots allows optimizing pre- and post-heating of processed area to reduce spatter and bubbles, thus stabilizing the technologies.
Optical design of the peaXXus provides theoretically lossless energy re-distribution of TEM or multimode lasers at different wavelengths. The peaXXus devices work equally efficiently with beams of any BPP (M²) and different sizes. Implementation from specific refractive optical components guarantees high resistance to multi-kW CW or pulsed lasers and reduced thermal focus shift. As an afocal optical system this multi-spot optics is installed between a collimator and a focusing lens, in the case of scanning optics - before the scanner. Due to low sensitivity to misalignments and compact design the peaXXus optics can be quickly, easily, and simply integrated in already existing process heads.
