MEYREUIL, France, Oct. 9, 2025 — The CB2 High Speed and the CB2 UV from Oxford Instruments are additions to the Andor CB2 series, a high-speed, low noise sCMOS camera platform. The CB2 High Speed consists of three Sony Pregius sensors and reaches frame rates <1594 frames per second (fps). The CB2 High Speed covers the visible range of the light spectrum and is available in three resolutions: 0.5 MP, 1.7 MP, and 7.1 MP, with pixel sizes ranging from 4.5 to 9 μm. These sensors include a set of features made for high-speed imaging, including a global shutter to avoid any spatial distortions, low noise down to 1.4 e-, and a multi-ROI mode to achieve even greater speeds. The CB2 UV is a UV camera that uses Sony Pregius S sensors. It features an 8.1-MP sensor with a 2.74-μm pixel size for sensitivity in UV, along with a back-illuminated structure. The sensor features an extremely low dark current of 0.0001 e-/p/s and very low amplifier glow, allowing for long integration times. CB2 UV functions at 191 fps at full resolution and features on-chip binning capability, which enables higher speed to enhance signal-to-noise-ratio.
