MUNSTER, Germany, Sept. 21, 2018 — sCMOS CamerasXIMEA GmbH has announced a cooled range of sCMOS cameras including backside illuminated models.

Divided into versions with thermoelectric peltier cooling or PCI Express interface which delivers their full speed potential, the whole range of cameras is equipped with sCMOS sensors handpicked from Gpixel Inc., concentrating on low noise values, high dynamic range and back illumination with quantum efficiency. Rolling and global shutter is available.

The rolling shutter mode offers low achievable noise and high sensitivity, which results from a symbiosis of USB3 and TE cooling arranged through peltier. The global shutter method presents a compromise of the sensor sensitivity values, but presents high results when frame rates are provided with the help of PCIe interface. This is particularly useful in cases of high-resolution and large-format sensors streaming 2 × 12-bit ADC.
