IDS Imaging Development Systems’ uEye XS machine vision camera is suited for applications in interactive kiosks, embedded systems, medical technology, industrial quality control, microscopy, and access control.
The device measures 23 × 26.5 × 21.5 mm and has a resolution of 5 MP, delivering clear image quality from a distance of 10 cm. The camera also includes an API function that enables clear focus positions, while digital zoom allows continuous enlargement of the image. Automatic control functions, including auto white balance, auto gain and auto exposure time, are performed internally, reducing CPU usage.
The camera features a 5-MP Aptina CMOS sensor with a 1.4-µm pixel size, providing true color images in seven fixed-image formats from 5 MP (2592 × 1944) to VGA (640 × 480). Frame rate is adjustable for long or short exposures, and at 5-MP resolution, the camera captures 15 fps. Binning can be used to capture up to 30 fps.
The device offers an IDS software suite, including drivers, tools, and interfaces, and can be connected by a USB 2.0 and mini-B socket. It comes in reinforced magnesium housing, and power supply is provided by the bus cable.
