Laser Quantum's venteon OPCPAVisit Laser Quantum at Laser World of Photonics, Munich (booth B3.314) to see a live demonstration of the venteon OPCPA. The development of Ti:Sapphire laser oscillators and amplifiers has revolutionized the use of femtosecond lasers in science and growing numbers of industrial applications, ranging from cutting, to bio-imaging and basic research in pump-probe spectroscopy and light-matter interaction. Many exciting new applications have arisen in recent years including the generation of High-order Harmonics (HHG), which has opened the door to the new field of attosecond physics. The demand of high energy, ultrashort, CEP stable few-cycle pulses at high repetition rate is ever-growing. To overcome the limitations in the traditional Ti:Sapphire technology, a positive alternative technique, the Optical Parametric Chirped Pulse Amplifier (OPCPA), has shown its full potential for few-cycle pulse generation with high energy and high repetition rates.

The rapid scientific developments in this field holds the promise to replace the established Ti:Sapphire amplifiers as the next generation light source with many advantageous specifications. With Laser Quantum pioneering the field, the first few-cycle venteon OPCPA system will be demonstrated at the Laser Quantum booth in Munich (B3.314), making this technique available to a wide community of users. As the OPCPA concept can be further up-scaled to higher energies and different wavelength regimes, this exciting light source is likely to initiate a second revolution in the short-pulse market by greatly enhancing the variety of available pulse parameters from commercial sources.
