Pigeons + LEDs: Illuminating the Skies - LIGHT MATTERS 05.20.2016
The May episode of Light Matters features renowned artist Duke Riley, whose work is lighting up the skies over Brooklyn Navy Yard through mid-June with Fly by Night, a uniquely-orchestrated live exhibit. With a troupe of pigeons and mini LED lights, this series brings together art, nature and technology. We also explore a new thin-film technology that achieves a world-leading solar cell efficiency of nearly 8 percent, and we take a look at a microscope the size of a penny that is helping researchers observe the everyday activities of cells within the spinal cords of mice.
