About This Webinar
Few-cycle laser pulses with stabilized and controlled carrier-envelope phase (CEP) have enabled a new class of experiments that shed light on the physics of light matter interaction with sensitivity not only to the intensity but also to the phase of the electromagnetic field. Laser sources are often the key element in a complex experimental setup and hence stability is of great importance. Bartels showcases laser system stability by way of an octave-spanning spectrum directly from the laser with no external broadening needed, and direct modulation of the pump power for CEO stabilization with no external acousto-optic modulator needed.

Mode-locked lasers with gigahertz (GHz) repetition rate have become attractive research tools in quantum information science as drivers of single photon sources such as semiconductor quantum dots or spontaneous down-conversion arrangements. The Ti: sapphire wavelength range and tunability are well-matched with the materials used in current research settings. The taccor tune Ti: sapphire laser with a 1 GHz repetition rate operates between wavelengths of 740 nm and 910 nm. Across this bandwidth, it offers a spectral density over 100 mW/nm. It is hence a very flexible source well suited for tailoring the driving source to the needs of the single photon emitter.
