Next-Gen 3D Vision: Accelerating Robotics in Automotive & Logistics with Blue Laser Sensors
Robotics is evolving—and so is the vision guiding it. In this joint session, Svorad Štolc and Tomáš Michalik introduce Photoneo’s newest generation of 3D sensors powered by advanced blue laser projection and proprietary technology. Designed for the demands of automotive manufacturing, logistics, and other high-throughput industries, these sensors redefine what’s possible in 3D vision-guided robotics—achieving submillimeter accuracy, dynamic scanning, and up to 2.5× higher throughput, even for fast-moving parts on conveyors. Attendees will learn how the new sensor line enables:
  • Ultra-fast bin picking, depalletization, and parcel handling.
  • Dynamic inspections in motion, without stopping production.
  • Seamless AI segmentation using color 3D output.
  • Reliable scanning of shiny, dark, or transparent materials.
  • Stable operation in all lighting conditions with ambient light suppression.
  • Autonomous Maintenance for zero-intervention uptime.
With practical examples from real-world deployments in automotive assembly lines and logistics hubs, this session will show how manufacturers and system integrators can shorten cycle times, remove bottlenecks, and drive automation to new levels of speed and intelligence.

About the presenters

Svorad ŠtolcSvorad Stolc, Ph.D., is the CTO of the Sensors division at Photoneo. He is an expert in machine vision, artificial intelligence, and parallel computing. In 2001, he received his master's degree from the Comenius University in Bratislava in the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. Afterward, he obtained his doctorate from the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava and the Technical University of Košice. He worked for the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna for several years. During that time, he published several internationally acclaimed scientific articles. At Photoneo, Svorad is responsible for the research and development of the company’s 3D sensing technology.

Tomáš MichalikTomas Michalik is the sales director responsible for the EMEA and APAC regions, leading a team of eight sales representatives, regional sales directors, and channel managers for the direct and indirect business of Photoneo. His experience with leading technological sales teams and various channels enables a smooth integration of Photoneo partner programs to maximize the benefits for both sides. He is passionate about technology, sports, gardening, and of course his family.
