ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Jens Krause and Anand Pandy provide information on a broad range of emitters and detectors for your lidar designs. From laser levels and surveying equipment to advanced robotics, range finders, and lidar mapping systems, today's products demand enhanced vision components with innovative performance, robust designs, and value-added engineering. Excelitas Technologies' next-generation pulsed laser diode emitters and high-performance avalanche photodiode (APD) sensors empower the vision of tomorrow by extending range, reducing power requirements, and helping to keep projects on spec and on budget. Excelitas' packaging and assembly strategies are key to offering the best quality for high-volume applications.

Excelitas' wide portfolio of pulsed laser diodes and avalanche photodiodes are best suited for industrial lidar applications. From 400 to 1700 nm, the PIN and APD photodiodes offer the best performance for individual applications, independent of the scanning mechanism used, while the pulsed laser diodes offer a wide range of output powers, emission sizes, and electrical properties, enabling applications with any size and power requirement.

About the presenters:
Jens KrauseJens Krause is an applications engineer for high-performance sensors at Excelitas Technologies. In this role, he is responsible for working with various teams, including sales, R&D, and customer facing. Krause works in the field of pulsed laser diodes and semiconductor detectors, including avalanche photodiodes and PIN photodiodes in various configurations. In addition, he works in the laboratory to support customers in overcoming measurement and calibration challenges. Krause holds a diploma in atmospheric physics from the University in Mainz, where he conducted several airborne field studies - in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center - on global trace gas mixing and dynamics in the areas of climate change and the polar vortex. He has 10 years of research experience in high-precision absorption spectroscopy, dynamics, and infrared sensing.

Anand PandyAnand Pandy is applications engineering leader for photon detection at Excelitas Technologies. He holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from Concordia University in Montreal and has over 20 years of experience in the photonics industry, including in optoelectronics, electronic circuit design, semiconductor processing, MEMS, project management, and NPIs (National Photonics Initiatives). With his broad knowledge in the field of optoelectronics, Pandy supports products such as APDs, lasers, and IR detectors that are used in markets including lidar and smart home. In his current role, he works with external customers and several internal teams, including engineering, product management, sales, and marketing.
