The Hubble has pioneered the space telescope industry, and its success has inspired the invention of many different space telescopes and observatories. However, there has never been a telescope invented to serve as a successor or support to the Hubble until the creation of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), scheduled for launching in the spring of 2019.
