Light emitting devices ranging from LEDs and luminaires to dental curing lamps and UV sterilization systems may benefit. With care and knowledge of light measurement devices, non-coherent light sources can be measured effectively and efficiently with commercially available laser beam profiling systems, integrating spheres with silicon, InGaAs or thermal sensors, and simple, low cost (nanometer resolution) spectrometers. Care must be taken such that the fidelity of the spatial image and irradiance information is preserved.
