3D machine vision was developed to enable automated quality control, but it is now being applied much more widely, in concert with automation and machine learning. Stereo vision, Time-of-Flight (ToF) scanning and 3D triangulation are commonly used 3D machine vision technologies, but there is an even wider range of applications. Here are just four examples.
