Charles E. Synborski , a well-known figure in the optics industry, has joined Melles Griot as Business Unit Director for Optical Systems and Custom Photonics Modules. He will be located in Rochester, New York at the Melles Griot Optical Systems facility. Mr. Synborski, who holds a Master of Science degree in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester's Institute of Optics, a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University, and a business certificate from Babson College, will direct global business development for Melles Griot's industrial and scientific lenses, custom optical assemblies, and machine vision products.

Mr. Synborski also brings extensive sales, marketing and product development experience to Melles Griot having held executive positions with such noted optics, instrumentation and automation firms as The Perkin Elmer Corporation, Carl Zeiss, Tropel and Hansford Corp.
