MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 25 -- The Aerospace Systems division of Nortech Systems Inc. was awarded a $1.2 million contract to supply cable assemblies for the MILES 2000 military training program. Shipments are scheduled in the first quarter of 2002. MILES (Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System) is an advanced force-on-force tactical engagement simulation system using laser pulses instead of bullets to simulate weapons firing.

"These environmentally sealed cable assemblies will be used in laser transmitters and detectors worn on soldiers' helmets and vests, and mounted on military vehicles such as tanks and armored personnel carriers," explains Mark Nordquist, national sales manager of Nortech Systems' Aerospace Systems division, which is located in Fairmont, Minn.
