Naser Partovi, a managing director for Enterprise Partners, has joined Gigabit Optics' board of directors. The integrated photonics company just announced that it closed a $20 million Series B round of funding led by Enterprise Partners. Existing investors, Ridgewood Capital and Walden International, also participated. Qusion Technologies announced a major expansion as it kicked off its drive to raise a second round of venture capital funding. Rueben Richards, CEO of EMCORE, joined Qusion's board of directors; Timothy Brophy, Ph.D., former director of photonic technology at Motorola, joined as vice president of product development; Nisa Khan, Ph.D., and Niloy Dutta, Ph.D., have both joined Qusion's technology advisory board.
Paul Mills of Nutro Corp. received UCB Chemical's Innovative Award for his presentation on the iTEAM UV-technology for the automotive industry. The award was presented at the RadTech Europe 2001 Exhibition & Conference held this month in Basel, Switzerland.
