Intel Funds Semiconductor Scholarships

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Dec. 23 -- The Semiconductor Research Corp. (SRC) Education Alliance has received $100K from the Intel Foundation to increase the number of scholarships it offers to women students at the master's level.

The SRC Education Alliance works with semiconductor companies to attract outstanding underrepresented minority and women students into engineering, computer science and other academic fields vital to the chip industry.

Each SRC master's scholarship award includes full tuition and fees, a living stipend and a $2,000 annual unrestricted gift to the student's university department. The deadline to submit an application for the 2003-2004 scholarship competition is Feb. 3, 2003. The awards will be announced by March 15.
