Bodkin Design Awarded Navy Contract

WELLESLEY, Mass., March 13 -- Bodkin Design & Engineering LLC has been awarded a $750,000 contract from the US Navy to develop a system capable of producing co-registered video imagery from the visible, mid-wave infrared and long-wave infrared spectral bands. This will enhance the capability of reconnaissance and targeting systems by providing high-resolution daytime imagery and infrared imagery for nighttime operation, Bodkin said. The patent-pending device will provide a standard module that can be used on multiple military systems.

The two-year project is sponsored by the Naval Air Warfare Center in China Lake, Calif., under the Small Business Innovative Research program. Demonstration tests are slated for fall 2004.
