Jun 2003
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J., June 18 -- Kodeos Communications Inc., a provider of 10 Gb/s enhanced-performance optical subsystems, announced today it has received an additional $6 million in a Series A extension financing round. Total capital investments from Highland Capital Partners and Jerusalem Venture Partners, including debt financing from Comerica, now exceed $22 million.

"Kodeos has exceeded our performance expectations by building an exceptionally strong management team and achieving technology validation from Tier 1-level customers," said Glen Schwaber of Jerusalem Venture Partners. "With the recent additions of John Wyatt from JDS Uniphase and Scott Jackson from Tyco Telecommunications, Kodeos continues to be a magnet for the industry's top talent."

The company said it will use the funds for continued product development and manufacturing preparation.

Kodeos provides transponders and advanced optical subsystems for OC-192/STM-64/10GigE transmission links within metropolitan, regional and long haul networks. Kodeos' Optical Modem products use advanced signal processing technology to improve channel efficiency and extend span lengths. Kodeos has demonstrated 10 Gb/s optical data transmission, using various modulation formats, over distances of 80 to 200 kilometers between optical nodes.
