MERRIMACK, N.H., Jan. 20 -- Xanoptix Inc., a developer of 3-D stacked hybrid integrated circuits and a manufacturer
of high-speed optical connection products, announced today it has completed the acquisition of AraLight Inc., a manufacturer of high-density opto-electronic components. Xanoptix received all the rights to AraLight's issued, pending and assigned patents and trademarks and product designs.
AraLight, a spinout of Bell Labs, was formed in 2001 and together with Xanoptix commercialized chip hybridization technology for highly dense optical transceivers.

Xanoptix's core technology is a hybrid-integration process that stacks components vertically rather than laying them side-by-side. This technology is at the heart of Xanoptix's first product, a 72-transceiver parallel optics module called the XTM-72.
