SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 10 -- Finisar Corp., a provider of fiber optic subsystems and network performance technology, announced it has completed the purchase of the assets of San Jose-based Data Transit Corp., a private manufacturer of protocol analyzers and traffic generators, for approximately $16 million in Finisar stock. The acquired business will be operated as a part of Finisar's Network Tools Div. at its Sunnyvale facility.
Kevin Cornell senior vice president and general manager of Finisar's Network Tools Division, said the acquisition is a significant step to maintain Finisar's position in the storage area network monitoring, analysis and test arena.
