Mary Jane Hellyar was named president of Eastman Kodak Co.'s Display and Components Group. Hellyar is currently general manager, Film Capture, Digital & Film Imaging Systems and a vice president of the company. She replaces Willy C. Shih, who has resigned, effective in January, after which he will have a consulting role. Candy M. Obourn, COO, Health Imaging, and a senior vice president of the company, will succeed Hellyar as general manager, Film Capture, Digital & Film Imaging Systems. Hellyar and Obourn will begin their new positions immediately.    . . .    Peter Hamilton, an ophthalmic surgeon at St. Thomas's Hospital in London, has joined the scientific advisory board of Light Sciences, a Seattle company developing light infusion technology (Litx), in which the drug LS11 (talaporfin sodium) is activated by an LED-based light infusion device. Applications of light activated drugs could include the treatment of in cancer, cardiovascular and eye diseases. Hamilton, a pioneer in the practice of ocular laser therapy, was the clinical investigator in a recent European trial of photodynamic therapy using LS11 in patients with advanced wet age-related macular degeneration.    . . .    Robotic Vision Systems Inc. (RVSI), of Nashua, N.H., said today it has been notified by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that a civil fraud action was filed against four former RVSI employees and one current employee relating to RVSI's restatement of earnings in May 2001. Four of the five defendants have consented to the entry of judgments against them without admitting or denying the allegations of the SEC's complaint. RVSI agreed to the settlement without admitting or denying the SEC's factual allegations against RVSI. "These proceedings deal with events that are now more than three years in the past. We are pleased to put this matter behind us," said RVSI Chairman and CEO Pat V. Costa.    . . .    Ultratech Inc., a San Jose, Calif., supplier of lithography and laser-processing systems used to manufacture semiconductors and nanotechnology devices, announced it has received an order from a DRAM manufacturer for its AP300 lithography system, built on its new Unity platform. The customer will use Ultratech's AP300 -- capable of processing both 200- and 300-mm wafers -- for wafer-level chip scale packaging.
