The primary objective of Field Mathematics for Electromagnetics, Photonics, and Materials Science: A Guide for the Scientist and Engineer is to review vector calculus for engineering and the physical sciences. The author includes discussions on tensors to make them understandable at the undergraduate level. A secondary purpose of the volume is to prepare readers for advanced studies in these areas. Part of the Tutorial Texts in Optical Engineering series, the 272-page book covers vector algebra review, elementary tensor analysis, vector calculus integral and differential forms, vector calculus in orthogonal coordinate systems and intermediate tensor calculus.
