To add an optical coating service to its technical glass division, Berliner Glas KGaA Herbert Kubatz GmbH & Co. of Berlin has purchased a majority interest in Prinz Optics GmbH of Stromberg, Germany. The acquired company provides optical coatings that are manufactured using the sol-gel immersion method. It is active in the market segments of display, projection, lighting, architecture and industrial glass.

The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of June and to become effective July 1.
